So it turns out that the photon guy may not have been a troll...and also the rate of nuclear decay isn't constant.

I read that like three years ago, is this recent?

Given that the paper was received in July 2012 that's unlikely.

No, he was still a troll. On the basis of the evidence he presented he was wrong.
These measurements are totally inconclusive.

"We suggest that these oscil-lations (in diameter and decay data) also are r-mode oscillations, originating not in the known tachocline, but in a hypothetical second ‘‘inner’’ tachocline that separates a slowly rotating core fromthe radiative zone at a normalized radius probably in the range0.2–0.3"

"There must be a mechanism, which occurs in the solar inte-rior, for modulating that radiation"

" The coupling may have its origin in an effective friction due tosmall-scale turbulence, or it could be due to the fact that the ei-gen-modes are not strictly independent of the radial index n,so that the quasi-eigen-modes formed from a combination of n value shave a finite, but small, radial extent""

Variations of k amplitude from a homogenous system influencing rate of nuclear decay. Same math concepts used by photon guy talking about point particles having dynamic shapes. Except this paper got there trying to make sense of the data. Coincidence or not the key data points of the change all ended up falling into a harmonic scale.

Either this is a major coincidence or a fundamental property of any such system... and some asshole from 4chan is out there somewhere covered in cheeto dust holding the key to resolving non-linear nuclear decay.
