There ought to be some smart cookies here. I am just wondering if there are others making money.

It was pretty clear to everyone Obama will be the next president. So I shorted blue chips and went long in Smith and Wesson. And guess what .... it payed off tremendously. After that school shooting shares of Sturm und Ruger plummeted. There was really no reason for that as they don't even make weapons covered with prospective ban. Massive drop in share prices was sillyness and I made killyness in profit.

Life is good and thank god for school shootings.

I am just wondering on how this shit is so easy.

I won't go to /pol/. First of all it is full of retards and second ... there was a popular thread on /sci/ raising a question that if you think you're so smart then why are you not rich.

I have just turned 10k risk into 300k profit. With the first assumption being that Obama will be president and second assumption that people will overreact on the school shooting allowing me to get a cool 100K on going long with Sturm and Ruger stock.

I am sharing this "secret" because I love you guys. I plan to use my new found money on hookers and blow, but maybe some of you will use it for advancement of humanity.

I saw a 17 year old guitar player busking in the street, got talking to him, bought some CDs and followed him on Twitter (He had 800 followers). I went to the bookies and put £100 he would win a Brit Award (Pretty much a British MTV award) the next year. I won a few grand on that.

That doesn't make me an entrepreneur, just got fairly lucky.

With these big words out of the way we can focus on what is really important. Every sensible person knew Obama is going to be a president. It took a little more thinking to realize shares of Smith&Wesson are going to go up after Obama's victory is announced.

I think I am helping you guys here and all I am met with is hostility.

Since I am a poorfag I use a stock simulator so I can pretend to buy and own shares. I've put 100k in the stock market and made 2000 bucks in a week. I also shorted apple stock right at its peak and made boatloads of virtual currency when it dropped precipitously. People will posit the efficient market hypothesis but anybody who plays the stock market game knows its bullshit, people play by instinct and fear, they don't spend all their lives reading balance sheets and accounting reports to make stock decisions.

get the fuck out of here

How fucking sad do you have to be to get a PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Physics or some shit and then go work for a hedge fund or in asset management? $100k+ and advancing humanity not good enough? Nah, I'll go fuck over the rest of the country by joining the sociopathic, egotistical, fucktarded gambling casino on Wall Street where everyone, regardless of whether they're cashing out or not, is looking for an escape route and a country to cart their plunder away to if the shit hits the fan, right?

I used part of my inheritance ($12,000) to buy gold in 2004 and I cashed out two months ago. Where did my profits come from? Who did I fuck over? Who bought my gold? Some boomer who hopes to have enough to live on for retirement, maybe his pension fund? What's going to happen when the bubble pops? Is he going to be homeless?

The system is fucking retarded.

Musician here

Obviously, I have found creative ways to augment my income, since I wanted slightly more than a studio apartment and a 93 toyota.

>wake up once at about 430am
>go to work, drive semi trucks. dat $23/h and overtime almost every week
>get off at 1pm or so
>go to sleep six hours 2pm-8pm
>wake up, usually have a gig at 10pm or so
>take my check, go home again

Sometimes I will take another nap between my gig and work. Next winter (dry season for gigs) Im going to a community college to get a phlebotomy certification. 30million entering the healthcare system as obamacare takes affect. Take note /sci/entists, the medical field is going to have a boom over the next few decades

While this shit is really easy on some cases, you gambled and got lucky. It was obvious that Obama was gonna win so you did this without any cop-out? Any asset manager buying this should be fired on the spot

I have a couple thousand sitting in the bank account from my internship this summer that I haven't really been spending. I was thinking about investing it but was worried about the risk since I'd also like to be able to spend it on a new computer or on living expenses during the first few weeks after I graduate college. Any ideas?

Then they should all be fired. Just go and check out the share prize movement.

How to become rich:

Step 1: Create a Youtube account
Step 2: Create a simple meme which caters to the retarded internet humour of the 21st century.
Step 3: Be rich

How to become happy:

Step 1: Eat healthy and workout everyday.
Step 2: Once your bodies in shape, your mind will be, and the hormones will guide the way for you, now go everywhere, and try everything, until you find something you love.
Step 3: Keep at it, everyday when you wake up, you will feel a powerful surge of passion get you up and do what you love, you won't worry about anything, you will just be immersed in this bubble life, will be thoughtless, it will just feel 'right', this is true happiness.

Buy the Cheers to you! CD now, it's even been on the Ellen DeGeneres show.

I assume you are in America. Couple of thousands is not enough in America. But do not despair as you live in the land of opportunities. If you want to make a risky bet I'd still recommend going long in Sturm and Ruger. Would have been better to get on early as I did, but they are still undervalued for no good reason. Even if your anti-gun law goes through it won't affect anything Sturm and Ruger produces. And if the anti-gun law goes through the sales will go up.

I know what you are trying to do even though I am not sure why you are doing this.

I live in a third world country so 300k has me set for life. That does not mean I won't throw an odd 10k into the market the next time I see an anomaly. And I don't really see a reason for you not doing it also.

>> No.5381118

How does one actually "throw 10k into the market"? Is it done through a bank or through internet? Sorry for this retarded question.

>> No.5381125

>>5381118
It is through brokerage companies. Most banks act as ones. In the way I meant it it was trading options. The example I have been making above was that I felt market was too pessimistic about gun companies. I picked a gun company having good overall stats and having least to lose if there were any gun restriction laws. Google up "option trading" for that. So far my moves have paid off. Sturm and Ruger stock had fell considerably after the school shooting and there was really no reason for that. Even if the bill goes through they are not producing any weapons classified as "assault weapons". And if there is an anti-gun bill then gun sales will go up.

You might think it is too good to be true and therefore false. Just have a look at Dow Jones dropping 3% and Smith and Wesson raisin 10% after Obama election.
