Chemistry is interesting. I know people with load of natural ability for physics, but who are retarded a chemistry ... and vice versa.

I think I enjoyed Chemistry in my high school years. One of my unforgettable memories was forgetting my sci. calculator during one of the quarterly tests and still got 60% right off tables, multiple choices and the few problem solving questions I got manually.

I felt the same way for a while but I think it's just organic. It requires a lot of work because it's not just about understanding, it's about memorizing a lot of rules and such.

I didn't give it the time it required and didn't do well and stupidly blamed the subject itself. I realize now it was just my laziness.

Maybe give it another shot and see what happens.

It's not as grand as it sounds unfortunately. There's still a lot of kinks to work out before it could be used for clinical diagnosis. No one wants to have to push your piss (or worse yet, blood) through an HPLC so they can find out if you're sick or not.

I got some ideas for using microscale affinity chromatography on a flow-gated PMDS chip which then pushes analyte to detector. Might work.

Man I love chemistry but I screwed up my foundations. If only I'd put more work into it and my life wasn't such a mess back then

O-chem felt like 50% understanding concepts and 50% memorizing specific reagents and exception mechanisms. It didn't help that my professors didn't allow IR/NMR charts on the tests; I hated having to memorize those tables.

I like Chemistry alot but what annoys me is the bullshit exceptions that we have to remember and at this level, we don't have to understand them, just remember. And in any test almost 50% of the exceptions come up anyway. God damn.

I can easily 95% any Maths or Physics test that my teachers throws at me right now but Chemistry... fuck.
