Does your Circadian Rhythm change with time? Such as me staying up until 4-5a.m. for the past 8 years. I get my full 7-9 hours of sleep every night, I just don't follow the "natural" bio clock in my brain.

If it does change, have I done permanent "damage", or can I just change it back?

Everything the internet is telling me is just that it is "healthier" to go to sleep before 10 p.m. but it doesn't really say much else...?

I guess I could've said 'Is staying up late bad for you?'

science does not approve of my question

No it is not bad for you. I used be on the 4am - 3pm schedule it all the time and I feel normal.

That said, your life just feels a lot better getting up at a normal time. The extra hours of sunshine really help a lot. Also, stores are open more. Society just functions better in the light.

could have something to do with hormone glands which are activated by your circadian rythm, now I don't know for sure

This kind of thing is always something which applies only "in aggregate". Statistically speaking, people who work 3rd shift have more health problems, etc., etc., right?
That doesn't mean that you - as an individual - will necessarily experience some/any negative outcome due to such a schedule.

That's what I'm thinking, since I'm in great health and have good habits. Just wondering if there was any legit science to be found. Time doesn't seem to matter, I think your hormones are still going to adjust to your schedule as long as you keep one.

No.

Circadian rhythm is based on UV light. You can change it by moving to a new time zone.

Blind people are more likely to have non-circadian rhythms for obvious reasons. The number of non-blind people in the world with non-circadian rhythms is <100

Your sleep pattern can be fucked from staying up too long, but your actual circadian rhythm doesn't care.

I know this because we had a huge big lecture on all this, because I work in an industry with lots of nightshift and it ties in to how you eat at night, etc

I should clarify, the UV light is what the eyes detect and tell the brain. Not UV light on your skin.
