Dear /sci/, I am not a regular here as I come to you for help.
My friend friend is a devout Christian, nothing wrong with that (to some extent). Now he obviously, being a Christian, believes in God. But here's the thing. He doesn't, like most Christians, just accept the existence of a deity blindly and as a given, he tries to logically justify his Gods existence through mean of evolution.

He believes that God is a human that underwent evolution and through natural means and became a perfect organism. Not "perfect", of near perfect, but 100%, completely flawless.

He just sent me this text message,
"If atheists believe in evolution, and evolution states that all species will continue to evolve until they are perfect, and god is defined as a perfect being, then must atheists acknowledge that god must exist?"

How do I talk some sense into him?
Pic related, my face when.

Evolution doesn't make perfect organisms, it makes organisms well adapted for their environment. Monkeys are good in forests and trees, but they wouldn't last if they had to live with the cacti. I don't think he really understands this evolution thing.

>evolution states that all species will continue to evolve until they are perfect

Evolution doesn't state this or anything remotely similar.

Dammit I'm such a faggot for replying to this.

I agree... Instead we get senators who think evolution is wrong and that there's definite evidence towards a 9,000 year old universe. Fuck.

>> No.5152423

>dad says universe is only 10000 years old
>tell him that we can see plants hundred of thosands of light years away
>"GOD MADE IT THAT WAY"
Then he goes back to watching Glen Beck and O'Riley

Explain to him what evolution really is, he has the wrong interpretation of it.

this

a slug as as 'evolved' as a human. all evolution does is make organisms that can survie in their environment
