You know rocks do not originate from the planet itself but were made in the solar system, they all belong to the same branch of rock evolution, there is nothing special about it.

For amateuratronanons, notice the horizontal lines on the canyon. These are deposited sediment layers, but what is interesting is just how horizontal they are. Thatś one of those little hints that there may have been some kind of liquid water, either on the surface or as groundwater.

Of course, they have experts in all forms of geology looking at this, so I could be way off, but when youŕe looking at ¨just rocks¨, these are some of the things to look for.

Also, not sure how they´re coloring this image, but it´s a different color scheme than we´ve seen before, so maybe their understanding of the dust in the atmosphere is better?

Actually, terrestrial planets are quite different from the primordial material present in the early solar system. They have undergone extensive differentiation (dense iron-nickel core forms with a outer silicate mantle and crust), as well as volcanism, and in some cases weathering and sedimentation (like on Earth and Mars). These processes are quite special indeed and can tell us a lot about a planet's formation and history.
