Damn, it doesn't matter what he says, Chomky was a handsome guy in his youth. I'd kiss his ass too, but only literally.

oh look, it's that old COINTELPRO propaganda lie again ...

which was created simply because Chomsky dared to compare the media coverage of East Timor genocide (barely covered) to the coverage of Khmer Rouge (vast propaganda effort)

need to keep 'em simple folk fearful of those dangerous pinko commie Chomsky ideas, don't we

the only reason chomsky gets his ass kissed is due to his status, not actually being correct.

Newton was wrong about physics.

You get off my /sci/ right now!

Newton is right for the scale he was capable of observing and experimenting. So it makes sense if he could describe the behavior of stuff on a different scale. And he actually backed his claims with experiments unlike most of modern day physics that uses only math.

unless you're an idiot and inhale the damn smoke, there are actually some studies that suggest pipe tobacco prolongs life rather than shortens it.
Probably hogwash but other studies show that the risk of cancer drops dramatically with noninhaling pipe smoking.
>>4954650
tobacco, or more accurately, nicotine, actually has an advanced effect of coffee in that it stimulates the mind to be more active. At the same time, pipe smoking actually promotes internal reflection and critical thinking. There's a reason Einstein avidly credited pipe smoking to his success.

his "status" was because he revolutionized the way linguistics is understood and taught. Barring his political ideas, his linguistic contributions are akin to Einstein's contributions to physics.
