Are any of you using your computers for distributed computing projects?

this is the link for the /b/ squad of SETI@home

I used to do folding@home, but gradually I've lost faith and failed to find any meaning in that. Also, electricity.

What does joining a group do? Are there any tangible benefits regarding the data you crunch?

not my fault if 4channers are loser assholes without any passion or motivation whatsoever.

Benefits of being in a group: less likely of being eaten by cyber predators.

So there's an announcement on BOINC.
The Einstein@home has detected no gravity waves (paraphrased). Thoughts? :/

I'd like to think it's all a matter of getting really, really precise equipment, but I don't know man, I don't know much about gravitational waves but I think it's a worthwhile use of my computer.

I still have more faith in Einstein@home than SETI@home.

Oh, I am backing them with my CPU. I just mean in terms of where gravity waves predicted by GR fit into the bigger picture. Cuz that laser they're using isn't something to laugh at. its pretty precise.

QMC@Home for me (Quantun Monte Carlo), predicts reactions used for polymers etc.
