>Be 19, almost 20
>Third year into college
>Come into college with a 3.6 cumulative in High school
>Be computer science major
>Major requires me to pass Calculus 3 before I'm done with math for good
>Fail precalc as a freshman, then pass next semester
>Sophomore year fail Calc 1 once, pass with a D next semester. (A 'C' is required to go to Calc 2)
>Really good at programming but math seriously fucked up my GPA, my Bs and Cs in my other classes aren't helping either.
>Academic probation for the second time
>1.9GPA
>Don't even bother with scholarships because of shit-nigger GPA, have loans, and commuting to college next semester. Can't afford to stay on campus.
>Have one semester to raise cumulative gpa above a 2.0 or im kicked the fuck out.
>Talk to advisor, recommends I switch to a Geography major and minor in Computer science. That way, I can take an easier math class and actually graduate on time.
>Alternate option being going to one of those shit community colleges dropouts and old people go to

What the fuck am I supposed to do with a Geography degree? I haven't taken Geography since high school.
Thinking about transferring to a school full of retards aka Community College to save money. Any advice?

College thread I guess.

What? Alot of young people go to CC. I even went before I transferred to a uni.

>> No.4844124

Why do you have such a condescending attitude towards community colleges, especially considering you're failing shit like pre-cal?

Either accept the fact that you're going to have to compromise due to your sub-par abilities or swallow your pride and work on the faulty bases you obviously have.

well In my opinion its a college for poor fags who are too stupid to get into College.

OP, if community college really were a place for retards you would fit right in with that GPA of yours.

Also,

>can't even manage a C in calc 1.
>not even acing non-math classes.

Seriously. What the fuck are you doing?

Not in OP's boat grade wise, but I graduated and am doing work for premed (post bacc program that is essentially for career changers) and I'd like to know if there are any excellent textbooks for precalc. I haven't taken it in forever and I need to as a pre-req. I do much better with a book in hand than I do with online resources. All help is appreciated guys, thanks

You're really a pretentious cunt. I went to a CC as my senior year in high school and studied abroad at Cambridge university in England. I went to college here on full scholarship and recently got into NYU and Columbia. Fuck yourself, good luck achieving anything close to this CC grad with your GPA, retard.

There's no way you'd make it. And your adviser is fucking screwing with you if he thinks you'll get anywhere with no calc, probably no stats, and shit results in other classes.

Go to CC. And fuck you for looking down on them you piece of shit.

nope!
you might be a proficient codemonkey, but if you suck at math you better fucking quit while you're ahead, or get it together and stop sucking
besides, CS is to programming as auto repair is to engineering. just because you're good at one aspect of it really doesn't mean a whole lot.

I think that your adviser pointing you in the direction of geography is a subtle way of saying "Do you even know where you are?"

On the plus side, if you majored in geography, you would be able to consult a map whenever you get lost on your way home.

How about no.

You're good at not fucking up syntax maybe but the second you get anything remotely challenging you'd fall on your ass. Math and programming don't have a direct relation outside of basic algebra, however they both rely on the same type of logical thinking. If you can't do one, you more likely than not cannot do the other.

it's not about being bad about math, it's about unwillingness to actually study.

OP said he has a sub 2.0 GPA. you don't get that just by doing shitty in two classes, you get that by being a lazy piece of shit. i can personally attest that undergrad is all about work ethic. you stare at something long enough and you will understand it at least till the exam.

cuz we assume geologists have some cave experience, specially when you take one on an alien planet, you expect him to be pretty savy outside

plus hes in charge of mapping out the area, and has an electronic map on his arm

so this implies hes done cave mapping before.

it would be fine if everyone got lost because the cave was complex, but every other team found their way out easily...the only team that got lost was the geologists lol

the geologist got lost because he was high as shit, bro. Did you miss the scene where they showed he'd hacked a fucking bong into his environment suit? He basically spends the entire movie except for five minutes when he leaves the cryo tubes on a bad paranoia high, which is why he was constantly pissed off and freaking out.
