It's purely unscientific and unmathematical idiocy that holds not truth whatsoever. A dimension is not a spatial dimension. It's completely useless to imagine higher dimensions, because you never need to do that anywhere, nor is your mind capable of it.

You know what's interesting to think about?

Our brain can "skip" one dimension and understand the 2d drawing of a cube as a good enough representation of a cube, right? The cube has equal planes, but the 2D will lack that and be skewed, though it's alright.

They hypercube or tesseract, in a 2D representation is that cube inside a cube thing. But there is no way we can look at it and imagine that the cube inside is equal in size of the cube outside of it and that all those lines are at a 90 degree angle.

Then enters this animation right here. Which keeps moving in a hypnotic way. You know what this is? A 3D representation of a hypercube, including time to explain a spatial dimension. It makes a little bit more sense to our eyes, even if it's still not all that palpable.

The first dimension isn't a line, it's any object that can be represented by a single number (whatever kind of number that may be). The boundary of a circle is one-dimensional for example. A one-dimensional object doesn't necessarily have length. Length is a concept available only under special circumstances.

There are so many other theories that have an entirely different kind of "dimension". For example you often consider infinite-dimensional spaces in quantum mechanics. In other places you have four spatial dimensions, sometimes you consider even fractional dimensions because it simplifies your calculations. The space spanned by 1, x, x^2 is 3-dimensional and has nothing to do with your normal "x,y,z" space. A dimension is a much larger concept than what you've learned "3D" means.

Can anyone here that is reasonable point me to a video that can reasonably explain the different dimensions. My physics teacher loves to do everything verbally and i cant learn for shit verbally.
