I went to UC San Diego because CAL/UCLA rejected me. I hated UCSD so much that I majored in structural engineering because it was the easiest and fastest to finish.

Many have dreams of building sky scrapers and massive bridges, but in truth the average job will have you signing off on patio extension for you local government.

Remember you can always be a MATLAB code monkey if things do not work out. I work in finance now and do not miss the field.

We started out $10K less than the other engineers, and are the easiest to replace. You will work with lots of Asians, Indians, and Slavs who cannot speak English for shit.

Ask anyone on campus what they think is the hardest major on campus, almost all will say engineering of some sort, the math/physics fags get listed second. It's kind of funny that the applied field gets more respect than the pure fields.

lol, I'm enjoying my internships as an EE, and I'm guaranteed a job at an big name defense contractor that starts at around $60k for the shittiest of interns. And most of the students in my program get these internships or ones similar to them because over 50 companies are hounding our career center for engineers.
