College tests are rather good tests of intelligence, which is why they have been described as poorly camouflaged IQ tests. I am familiar with at least one paper where the authors extracted the g-factor from the SAT test and the remaining part of the test did not predict grades. This demonstrates that it is the test's ability to measure intelligence (g) that matters.

Perhaps they don't say so, but if the tests didn't measure intelligence (g), they wudn't predict much or be of much use. That is, unless they measured something else relevant such as conscientiousness.

Actually, sometimes such skills and similar skills are used in subtests on full-scale IQ tests. Read up on the WAIS test.

Besides, even if they weren't used in common IQ tests, they cud still correlate with intelligence and be of use.

If you try this for a few values, you get 1,2,4,8,16 for n = 0,1,2,3,4,... But then, when you get to n=5, It's 31.

I put the results in matlab; assuming the actual baseline for this board is 100 (probably pretty accurate, might be more like 105 - the results shift up linearly, so you can add whatever number makes you feel good about yourself), some intro level stats will reveal that the test actually does have a standard deviation of 15, which was cool. However, instead of 100, their mean is set at around 120.

MFW your actual IQ is 20 points less than this test claims.
