What's the ranking engineering domains ?

Why ? What's the best, EE, ME, CS ?

>> No.4722415 [DELETED]

Go with the Purple one.
The Purple one is always cool.

It's not a salary ranking I ask. I ask your ranking, with reasons.
How interesting, enriching, to study, how good are jobs, (salary counts).

>> No.4722529

>EE

Enjoy your boring ass job that pays less than CS and takes more effort

>> No.4722617

Bump.

Isn't there more variety in EE ?

3. chemical
4. mechanical
5. mining/petroleum/whatever
6. civil

not included: random subspecialties

These lists always turn out to be a complete waste of time. The only correct answer is whatever the fuck you want.

CS isn't engineering, its tons and tons of maths to write efficient algorithms. Knuth is a top tier scientist.
Economics is a giant clusterfuck of mathmatical models based on loose ground.

Women/african/animal studies are however a complete waste of time.

Are you enrolled in CS?

Its a lot of maths. In fact many influential mathematics faculties include CS or computational maths as branch.

Its not coding away all day like a monkey, that's what community college grads are for. They don't even call it computer science, they call it computer programming.

This is how a textbook of an average computer science class looks like.

too many people know programming nowadays, and there's no need for that many CS, so unless they're brilliant many of them just end up doing programming.
So I say EE. A EE can do the job of a CS, a CS can't do the job of a EE (I'm not talking about very specialized positions, but about what most people does).

The math dictates the quality (sexappeal) of the programming. That's the difference.

There's still a significant shortage of CS majors. Microsoft, adobe and oracle are setting up R&D departments in india and china to keep up with demand.
