If you choose to stay then you will not be born, you would live in a world without your younger self. If you go back to your original timeline(not quite THE original because you popping out of nowhere changes causality) nothing has changed.

Of course not. THE ABSENCE IS THE EVIDENCE. If time travel were possible, then time travelers would have been all over our history. Instead we had ZERO.

In addition, the very claim of time travel was far-fetched. We have no evidence that anything travels in time other than along with everything else. Nothing.

And yet another clincher: Titor claimed that all the people who resisted the U.S. government by force of arms utterly failed. LOL! The U.S. government can't even secure anything outside of the Green Zone in Iraq. Millions of armed and angry Americans would make the U.S. government cease to exist as a viable political actor.

Titor was just some nerd troll who played up to his extremely gullible nerd audience. Since he knew many nerds are stick-wristed manlets, he played on their fear of guns and contempt for civil insurrection.
