I'm curious, what is the future of life on earth?

I know that in about 4 billion years, our sun is going to die out. How is that going to affect life? Can we survive?

What about the evolution of humans?

Help me out /sci/!

The earth will not survive; all life on the earth will end at some point in time.
The only hope for humanity to outlast the earth is if we leave and colonise other planets.

Pretty much this.

Yet we continue to preoccupy ourselves with almost annual international dick waving bitch fights we call wars and they take up a lot of the money that could be used to do this sort of thing.

Makes you wonder if humanity deserves to survive.

This is a great source for future speculation.

We'll likely colonize the moon if an apocalyptic event does not occur.
From there on the solar system is free range.

I was enjoying this site until I got to "The health effects of secondhand smoke have been well-documented. In the US alone, they caused 46,000 heart-related deaths and 3,400 lung cancer deaths in 2010."

ASTEROID MINING BITCH.
YOU DON'T WANT TO GET HYPED?
YOU THINK "IT'S NOT DONE YET, AND I'M SURE IT WILL PROVE TO BE IMPOSSIBLE"?
YOU ARE JUST AFRAID OF ALL THE AWESOME POTENTIAL CHANGE?

I HAVE NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS.
I DON'T THINK I CAN BE MORE EXCITED.
