so i made a python program to generate some pretty mental typography.

The code uses the Fresnel integral and Wave Propagation using the top and bottom layers of the text

what do you think?

i need to sort the code out so its more reliable first. it likes shorter text.

That looks neat, gives me some inspiration to try some own stuff. How computational demanding is the implementation?

Cool. Are you a physicist/engineer? Is every grey value in the grayscale image considered to be a wave source?

it works pretty well on type thats got ragged edges. i got one of dafont called 'Grassevent' and did this because it reminded me of Radiohead's King Of Limbs album art.

>>4453955
Yeah i'm a physicist.

it just takes the uppermost and bottom row of pixels of the input greyscale image as the input plane (well its a 1D signal). and propagates them upwards and downwards respectively leaving the middle bit intact

Ah, alright :) Sounds pretty straight forward. Is that an arts competition or a project within a wave physics course or something?

Really nice album by Radiohead anyway. Gotta check them out more.
