P.S., you should've named it Hilbert SPACE instead of Hilbert Tier. Would've been awesome.

>Differential calculus
>Differential equation
>in God Tier.

nope.

>Logic
>Set theory
>Topology

Should be in God Tier, technically, since these subjects form the basis for everything else in mathematics.

Kind of agree with Good Tier. Number Theory is easily Hilbert Tier, though.

Statistics == God Tier. I don't know what stats you're doing, but it's not babby shit in the slightest.

Euclidean Geometry, Ring/Group Theory should be in High Tier.

Stat major ahoy. Should've majored in engineering babby; more dick in it for you.

I'm a mathematics major and I took Stats.

It was relatively rigorous. It had proofs involved, looked at actual articles where I had to confirm the stats, etc. To be quite honest with you, I didn't like it all that much, though I found it somewhat enjoyable. Too much number crunching for me, though, and you can easily fuck up with certain equations/laws.

You know, mathematicians are not faggots. They do not place certain branches of mathematics into tiers. They treat it as a whole, seeing connections between various fields.

/sci/ has always had tier threads. mainly its the same subjects being tiered over and over. Because /sci/ is too autist to have any fun. but this is not a power ranking. Power rankings are ranked: 1., 2., 3., ..... 9001. etc.

Oh yeah, I know that /sci/ has always had tier threads with courses. He's just doing it with math subjects specifically.

I find it lighthearted. At least this thread isn't filled with the denizens of /sp/ who would go something like:

>Complex Analysis in Hilbert Tier.
Confirmed for shit list.

>>4420819
During NBA finals, I practically abandon /sci/. I frequent about four boards primarily now:

/sci/, /r9k/, /co/ and /sp/.

Sometimes, I browse /soc/ when I'm in the mood to be conversational.

Most people don't have a clue about what statistics really are, behind the "find the mean, median and std dev of these numbers" or maybe a few <span class="math">\chi^2[/spoiler] test for the most educated.

They've never heard of, like, ergodic theory, and properties of stochastic processes like mixing, which are just awesome to play with, and have cool applications in statistical physics and information theory.

Yep, my school is shit tier. Apparently they don't have enough math majors to teach the majority of their courses (and the math majors I've met are fucking retarded, mostly ugly nerd girls that want to feel like speshul snowflakes and don't actusally understand shit (>mfw in a basic linear algebra class and math major girl can't understand how to solve a simple system of equations. Wtf is this, middle school??)). I'm just a minor but it pisses me off, and the professors have all just about given up and come to terms with the fact they're merely glorified highschool teachers, and will never get to teach anything remotely interesting.
