Why are you still being a pleb and not studying physics?

Because i'm Studying math as far as Khan Academy goes, utilizing it as a launch platform for further mathematical study before diving into physics, classical, Newtonian, etc. at first, then more modern, and then subsequently utilizing that as a launching platform for quantum mechanics...

I also don't haz moniez 4 colleges, currently...

The most abstract algorithm CS has is putting 10 pigeons into 9 pigeons holes.

The sad thing is, it actually true...

>>4404480
>implying those abstract algorithms did not arise from programming that silicon

The deepest CS goes into silicon and hardware is: "Computers will always get faster every years, so lets not give a shit and write all our code in java". And that's when they spend the 5 minutes in school thinking about actual coding; most CS graduates can't even write a simple "fizz buzz" loop with out googling the answer.

>> No.4404606

For the vast history of mathematics, algorithms were considered too simple and obvious to be even worth mentioning. This still holds today. The only algorithm I've even seen in any maths text is Todd–Coxeter.

Hence CS has nothing to do with maths. The fact the mathematicians are the only ones able to expand the field is proof of CS field's own incompetency.

That's retarded and mathematicians will agree. Mathematics is not science, science describes our universe, math can describe any universe and is not based on observation.
Math isn't science and physics is not derived from it, it applies math but theories are more than equations. Physics cannot be derived without observation or assumption. If any physical principle could be derived from mathematics it would be proven and thus true forever. But an observation can always destroy theory so physics cannot be derived from math.

Its not an insult to say mathematics is not science it's just a fact.

>> No.4404819

>>4404802

You can derive chemistry (in theory) from physics and biology from chemistry and so on. You cannot derive physics from mathematics, it is not a subset.

I actually made a list for mathematics at one point, never finished it though.

>> No.4404862

>>4404851
You can absolutely derive physics from mathematics, you clearly haven't studied much of it. You just can't necessarily say that the physics you derive is the physics that describes our universe, for that you make observations to limit your set of physics to be only that which applies 'physically'.

>> No.4404864

>euler's method
A function described by it's slope at every infinitesimal point, fuck evaluation it at a finitely many points. "Just glue together a bunch of line tangent every so often." OMG so complex and abstract, how did Euler ever think of it?

>newton's method
function defined as an infinite series, fuck evaluating an infinitely many terms. Let just use the first two terms. So abstract!

Whats next and arguments that binary search, bisection, secant, false position, least squares, rectangle/simpson's rule, dykstra, prim, RSA, DFS, BFS, Red-black trees, radix sort, dynamic prog, linear prog, etc aren't obvious?

I'd also argue that QM and Stat. Mech. should be directly related, and an arrow from Stat. Mech./Thermodynamics to Chemistry is also highly apropiate
