Ferrari and Shell did a commercial where they connected a refueling hose from an airborne plane with a boom to a F1 racer. Can you tell me what plane it is? My first thought was that it'd be a KC-130 but it has two engines, and I just don't know very many cargo planes by sight.

Air-to-ground, for area denial and close infantry support. It's already up there with the Ontos as being scary as balls.

It wouldn't approach the attack helicopter, but after you drop your Marines off, wouldn't it be nice if you could circle the area and provide a little fire support? Gunships move relatively fast, and attack helicopters don't really carry enough cargo if they're effective as attack helicopters, but it wouldn't be for that.

Yeah, but that's a shitty solution and it's not permanent. There are plans to mount a gun on the osprey but those are sort of halted due to finances. Also, the globemaster goes faster than the osprey. It would be pretty hard for the osprey to get in front of the globemaster to line up a shot like that.

Here's a tip. All modern fighters with ranges of 50km or so, and RADAR that detects the enemy at a far greater distance. Air to Air missiles lock onto to aircraft two ways, infrared sigs, which come from engine exhaust. The other is a RADAR lock.

You can imagine, that stealth for a fighter is a big fucking deal when some of your opponent's weapons, and detection systems are rendered near worthless
