I have 2 questions:
Are there any studies that confirm the "supposed" effectiveness of Subliminal Advertisement?

And, if that is true... Can it be used by an individual to condition himself?

I'm just wondering if it can be applied to make more appealing activities like studying or exercising instead of buying and consume more popcorn.

What do /sci/ think?

I heard this was discredited a long time ago. The theory was traced back to a movie theater that claimed that if they showed a frame of a Coke bottle in the film that Coke sales went up. It could never be duplicated though.

They found that if a person doesn't see it, it has no effect.

Thank you.

Now the question is, does it work when you see it?

Is it possible to condition a human being with not-so-subliminal messages?

>Is it possible to condition a human being with not-so-subliminal messages?
Yes with things like kayfabe
>Kayfabe (pronounced /'ke?fe?b/) is the portrayal of events within the industry as "real" or "true", as being genuine or not of a worked nature. Referring to events or interviews as being a "chore" means that the event/interview has been "kayfabed" or staged, or is part of an angle while being passed off as legitimate. Kayfabe has also evolved to become a code word of sorts for maintaining this "reality" within the realm of the general public. Kayfabe is often seen as the suspension of disbelief. Some efforts to promote kayfabe have resulted in real-life consequences.

You mean does advertising work?

>> No.4294076

Well, Advertise obviously works... but it has a lot to do with the social behaviour and public opinion. Do you think ads work for individuals? I'm not so sure, specially when I'm proposing activities against what is considered common behaviour (even if it's also accepted as a good behaviour).

Dianetics? Are you serious? and if so... "Why so serious?"
