I have so little motivation that barely keeps me alive. I wake up and immediately consume what the internet updated while I was asleep.
We pretty much experience every pleasure world has to offer already. There is not much I want to do even if I had enormous amounts of money.
This seems to be our generation's thing. Lack of motivation...
What do you think the future will be like in this regard? Will the society produce more of us or people who shootout at kindergardens just for the hell of it?

>> No.4255057

Yeah i've been thinking about this too

Living in a 1st world country, with all these industrial and medical advancements in society, and with money to burn and nothing that is really out of reach to me, it gets kind of boring.

my post is a huge run-on, idgaf

i wanted an electroguitar for so long and when i could afford it i stopped playing after couple of weeks
i then wanted a camera to shoot an amateur movie, i got the camera and now it is lying somewhere i don't even care about
i constantly want a better pc to play better quality games and as soon as i get it, i play them for a night and return to mindless browsing...mostly 4chan
even that gives no pleasure, fapping like it's a chore, watching movies to numb my mind

yeah, i feel it

go live somewhere without anything for a while. i was like this but then i travelled a bit and did a tour of yurop (i live in depressive wet gloomy murky UK) and came back. it wasn't like oh wow, soo deep but for me it was like once you were out there and noone knew me and acted differently to me i began to like the things that i had and kinda motivated me to actually do things. it kinda changed the idgaf about anything attitude into i give a fuck about some things and although they may be very few things i'll enjoy the things i have now.
pic related: looks like me.

I'm not really asking for a solution
It's fine this way
But the outlook for future looks really bleak
I anticipate mass suicides or people doing heavy drugs to relieve their purposeless conscioussness

>> No.4255212

Hurr, not wanting to consume as much as possible and being happy with what you have must be some kind of disease.

No seriously, unless you are freeloading off your parents after 30 or something, "lack of motivation" isn't anything strange.

Now that I have said that, I am currently educating myself to work as a dentist, and I will use the money I don't need to live and do basic fun stuff to fund works of creativity that catch my interest (yes I played Katawa Shoujo and liked it, yes I like many artists that aren't sponsored by big institutions).

Culture is the food for your soul, we have infinite access to it, just not all of it is good. Don't consume too much shit.

>> No.4255315

We gave up on religion, capitalism, and nationalism too. Now were sitting around with nothing to do.

The greatest war ever fought , a war of the soul. Most of us whacking off , furiously touching our poles.

What it must be a life free of choice, your greatest decisions already chosen where women have no voice.

Now for this poem here I am chosen to be flogged , but raped and given a ban , but just for posting this I feel more like a man.

You need to get outside more. Just go backpacking for a week in the mountains or something - that will definitely make you feel more alive :) Or perhaps start going on long bike trips. There's a lot of stuff you can do.

Also, pick up a hobby or a sport. Maybe a martial art, maybe it's designing and building electronics, or perhaps you'd enjoy making sculptures.

I had/have loads of hobbies. I wrote stories, painted, played guitar, played basketball, done martial arts, tried making video games, worked on science, actually still working on chemistry...But all that leaves me with the feeling of insatisfaction. Unless my mind is busy being numbed by entertainment products I'm driven to think about the way how nature and mind works which I can reach no conclusion...

Love brah, and don't even think about the usual definition I mean loving everybody.

It's what Jesus' one command was. If there world had more love there wouldn't really be so much aimless boredom.

i agree
if we're stuck on maslows first step of the pyramid, we won't have anytime to worry about useless stuff like purpose of life
sure it will be tough just to fight to survive, but it will be fun nevertheless

i would thus welcome a zombie apocalypse right now. if i get eaten by a zombie so be it, but the fight for survival would be immense source of joy

so hunting for food is your purpose in life? That´s what you think is good, what you aim for?

>> No.4255466

I also find in situations like camping, there is just such a great satisfaction in primal thinks like gaining warmth, scavenging useful objects etc

Not too mention the bro-ness that comes along with the people you are with

If you are searching for a "greater purpose" in life read the bible.

To be honest having a purpose doesn't concern me as long as I'm happy.

Everything else is just a surrogate activity,
directed toward an artificial goal that people set up for themselves merely in order to have some goal to work toward, or let us say, merely for the sake of the 'fulfillment' that they get from pursuing the goal
science marches on blindly, without regard to the real welfare of the human race or to any other standard, obedient only to the psychological needs of the scientists and of the government officials and corporation executives who provide the funds for research.

I saw Kacynski so I decided to drop in and say Kaczynski was an insightful man and his writing should be more widely understood.

I think this is the case despite whether kacynski was absolutely correct in his feelings or justified in his murders.
