You're making an elementary error. Space, being a Euclidian Aether, can all be mapped radially to the center of the Earth, whatever that point may be decided to be. Thus, each local sector in the hollowed-sphere space about earth may mapped to countries, not unlike airspace. It's a bit embarrassing that you hadn't thought this through, but oh well.

My OP wasn't even a troll, it was an interesting article that I thought /sci/ might be interested in, shaped into what I thought was an amusing post, of course it is all ruined now.
