Hey, /sci/entists. I'm taking a physics class, and the textbook is expensive as shit. Do any of you pirate your textbooks? If so, where do you find them? Any help would be much appreciated.

In return, infographics.

My bad, guy. Enjoy this infographic.

i downloaded 4 of the 5 books i will need for this semester. the only reason why i didn't get all 5 is because the professor didn't announce what book we will need in the fifth class.

i find them all by just doing a google search. you type in the book title, edition, and if need the author's last name. then you go through page after page of results until you find a live download link to the book you need.

took me probably 10 hours if not more to get the 4 books, but since my break time is virtually worthless, it was better than paying ~$200 per book.

I might have found it. More infographics anyway.

mechanical engineering

virtually all the engineering books can be found online, either as actual ebooks or scans. the only problem is that they keep making new versions every few years, and it's often a hassle finding the version you need. the material stays virtually the same, but the end of chapter questions change.

Yeah, textbooks are bullshit like that. One of my professors last quarter had the decency to come right out and tell us that nothing was missing from the older edition of the book, and he let us use that.

A factor of two change in power is 3 dB, not 10 dB. I don't know if it's the same for perceived noise intensity.

How they get you is often you'll have to sign up for some online shit and the costs like $50 (mastering physics, mastering engineering, math xL etc etc). Often you might as well just buy the code with the book. Also they change the editions every so semesters so they force you to buy the newest edition because profs will only post questions/solutions for the newest one.

Yes I mad.

If you need a recipe to tell you to do that, you probably have bigger problems than salmonella.
