I used to be a skeptic about vaccinations, but last year was the first time I decided to get a flu shot because my school was offering them for $10. I've heard some people get sick after receiving their shots, and it makes considering how vaccines work; you can't become immune to something without having been infected by it somewhere down your bloodline.
But I didn't feel any different after mine, and aside from a cold, I hadn't been really sick or feverish in 2011.
I'll probably re-up this year if they offer more cheap flu shots.

The real healthcare recommendation is between 1k-2k.

I have a friend who is hospitalized because of a bad reaction to a flu shot. She has numbness in her legs and would stop breathing in the night. Doctors aren't sure if she will recover fully. I'd rather get the flu than risk something like that, even if the odds are supposedly miniscule.

I study pharm (as a fun thing to learn about on the side, and a possible later major, just a biofag for now) and I was told that D3 req'ments scale with physical activity and as a square of your size. I agree 10k is excessive, but I've been doing 3-5k daily when I don't get sun, 3k when I do...
