Does marijuana really have negative effects on the brain and intelligence?

>> No.4113318

Well, if it didn't, then the US government wouldn't have made it illegal. Duh.

>> No.4113319

probably not if you smoke moderately

Did you not pay attention in DARE class? That is disrespectful to the teacher.

>> No.4113326

On the contrary. It has been proven that cannabis actually makes you smarter.

>> No.4113333

Short term memory and learning disability. Chronic users may experience these effects 1 week to 3 weeks after quiting. No evidence suggests any permanent alteration. I smoke medical often and have improved my ability to transfer experience into short and long term memory while high- allowing me to reap the benefits of altered perception and higher levels of consciousness.

Our DARE teacher said everything in moderation. Said he feels that there a need for those in pain.

any damage is compensated for by the wisdom an alternate view of reality gives you.

knowing your mind is a subjective experience is a critical thing for empathy and proper application of knowledge.

It has different effects on different people. AFAIK from real research it doesn't do anything to physically harm the structure of the brain and it's neuron jobbies but from personal experience some people may have trouble taking the pipe dream thoughts they create and bringing them back to the real world in a coherent way.

I smoked a bowl or two every night for the first half of this semester and I found that it made it harder for me to remember things in general, by now I am back to normal. While it did make things hard to remember it also made me much more interested in a lot of my school work, I loved reading my o chem book and learning all sorts of stuff about chemistry in general while high. If had actually taken notes during that time I feel that I would have actually learned more than if I didn't smoke weed. I can't say for everybody but for me it has had no long term effects on intelligence, and if anything it has made me more receptive to new ideas.

It's been my experience that people who smoke exclusively tend to be more forgiving, and more patient. Tend to understand that life is a subjective experience.

People who drink exclusively tend to act like sarcastic teenagers, but they know how people think and can push buttons easy.

People who are straight edge tend to make terrible jokes and have little ability to understand what is and isn't approachable in a human being, and accept most people because they are crazy naive and self centered.

Doing more drugs and alcohol makes you into a more likable person. Not necessarily better, but more likable and understanding of the world.
