If you're going into math for the money, you're a fucking idiot. There are tons of higher paying majors out there for half the effort required. Pick economics or petrochemical engineering or something if you want a high pay after graduation. Don't believe the statistical hype, most PhD grads in pure math are lucky to saddle up with a 40k teaching position. People who go into math do so because they like it and want to pursue it as a profession, not because they want to chill in the country club with dentists and insurance brokers.
