Do you keep a copy of every paper you read if it in PDF? If so, how do you rename and organize them?

Yes, I know, but I mean that's not the only way I keep track of them. You usually have the papery you're currently working with in your memory, I keep a file with catchwords I like in papers and when I read them etc.

Yup pretty much. Taking a note from my professors I go with the "messy desk" organization approach. I save every paper I read to my desktop. When I can't see my background very well, the papers get organized by area on a folder in my desktop.
