So what is /sci/'s IQ?

I seriously hope you guys don't do this. Also Feynman is laughing at you with his average IQ.

>> No.4100743

IQs only measure your ability to do IQ tests.

Like a poster said, Richard Feynman has an average IQ. He is also the man who created one of the most perfect theories of all time.

Go figure..

If an IQ measures intelligence, then yes, someone with a low IQ could never contribute to Quantum Mechanics.

FOR FUCK SAKE FEYNMAN HAD 124 REAL IQ SCORE.

The normal is 100.
If IQ doesnt matter then people with 100 and 90 would have been great scientists, but no, 99.99% of great scientist were above 125.

But yeah, believe whatever you want.

If Richard Feynman doesn't score off the scale on an intelligence test, then the test is wrong. Obviously.

>> No.4100781

They can't even spell genius properly in your results.

All of the IQ tests I've seen are flawed as fuck. Everyone comes out with 130+ IQ scores (try asking on /b/ what their IQ is and brace for lulz), and they ask ridiculous questions like "Name the 23rd President of the United States of America."
Asking for a random piece of learned knowledge != a valid test of someone's ability to solve a problem.

Intelligence is not something that is quantified by number, but rather demonstrated by action.

Regardless, people shouldn't value intelligence so heavily. There are more important traits that society should value, like altruism.

1. Feynman had an IQ of 125, which is close to being the top 2%.
2. The only reason he scored so low was because he was bad at writing. The math/physics portions, he dominated. Read up on his mathematical ability and synesthesia.
3. If your only counter example to people having high IQs and correlating with intelligence is Richard Feynman, then you are only lying to yourselves about your low IQs.

IQ measures a really narrow portion of intelligence - namely pattern recognition.

I find intelligence is better correlated with learning speed - the faster someone learns the more intelligent they are.

>> No.4101557

I scored a 161 on the Stanford-Binet, I have what I guess is one of the highest IQ's on /sci/.

my accomplishments are relatively impressive for this board, I've published some work and I'm also a business owner in industry with a net worth of a couple million dollars.

However those accomplishments probably have more to do with the fact that I'm about twice the age of most /sci/borgs. I'm a mediocre scientist at best and an unhappy individual most of the time. I don't understand most of the threads on this board, nor do I care to. High IQ doesn't always equal competent scientist or skilled mathematician. Most often it means upper middle class liberal that knows he knows nothing.
