The legal system does not give a fuck about the rights of the citizens. It is broken.
If a person is law abiding or submits to their punishment then the state should protect them.
(the police will agree with this statement - their duty is to "serve and protect")
If the state does not protect people, then those people do not have to submit to law or obey laws.
(the police will adamantly disagree with this statement, even though it is the contrapositive of the previous)
P->Q, ~Q

~P
Modus Tollens motherfuckers. It's valid deduction. You cannot accept one of the above statements without accepting the other. Welcome to logic 101.

What the fuck do you mean the state does not protect people? Nigger, are you retarded?

Even in a police state, the state protects it's citizens, albeit at a greater expense to their rights.

>implying a police state isn't better than a democracy

A democracy only protects corporations, not the common people.

>> No.4096595

First off, "protect and serve" is just a fucking motto. Second, how the hell does serve have anything to do with people submitting to the police? Third, where did you get P→Q? If you got it from "protect and serve" then you are a retard because that is a conjunction, not an implication.

Many early legal systems would punish people by making them outlaws. The meaning of the word outlaw has been bastardized into "someone who doesn't follow the law". In reality an outlaw was someone who is not protected by the law, but still must follow the laws themselves or be further punished. There are no legal consequences to someone who decides to murder, rob, or rape an outlaw; law enforcement will not intervene.

Our modern legal systems still take away people's protection as a form of punishment.

Call the police next time your house is being robbed and tell me they don't show up.

Call the police next time someone steals your car and tell me you aren't protected by the law and its enforcement in our democratic state.
