My IQ is quite high

Just never amounted to anything. My brain doesnt work properly, my thoughts are just weird and erratic, focusing on anything is impossible. When i begin to think, my focus narrows, i forget an important detail or bit of context, and the solution i come up with is flawed. Every time. I almost literally can not think about things

I scored 148 on a DOD administered IQ test (was going to school on a military base) when I was in 4th grade.

I graduated in may with a physics degree, interned at BNL, and I'm going to go to grad school next year.

same here. Looking back I realize that at the same time I scored 136, I didn't know how to spell "doggy." It was only the other year I realized it's not "wendsday." I never was very well rounded. Have lot's of trouble with concentration.

IQ of 138 here...

Tested in a certified clinic, tested multiple times and 138 was the lowest of my scores.

While as a child I was light years ahead of other children, reading at college level by 3rd grade.

Now, I'm 24 years old. My whole life ridiculed and bullied and friendless for being different. I amounted to nothing.

Currently working in a liquor store.

Spend my free time getting shitfaced off of PBR and watching anime all alone.

Despite all of this I am actually very attractive... but my dark past of total social rejection has harmed me so deeply.

I've never taken an IQ test but I'm 99% sure I'm quite a bit above average, I can just tell when someone is a stupid person, (which is 99% of the population), I can fire off procedural jokes right off what's going on in any social situation and cause a group to laugh, I can reason with anyone and usually convince them something logically, and I'm an Astrophysicist and Game Designer.

Why do people insist on bragging about their IQs? It's like saying you have a massive nutsack. Bitches don't care unless you have a big dick to go along with it.

Anon of IQ somewhere around everybody else in this thread here; just did this a few months ago, but I've had a few tests done when I was younger (before 4th grade) and they were close to this one as well.

IQ has nothing to do with being creative; it's how you apply yourself. If a person with an IQ of 75 works at a completely esoteric problem for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, and a person with an IQ of 150 does for 2 hours a day, 1 day a week, the person with the lower IQ probably will have made more progress. This is why normal kids sometimes get better grades than "smarter" kids -- they apply themselves and study.

I have a friend. He is dumb. Can't think through an argument to save his life, knows almost nothing.

He sees patterns everywhere. You can give him a string of numbers, and he'll tell you various relationships between them that he sees. Does surprisingly well on IQ tests, in the 120s i think, but you'd swear he was retarded. not like, dumb. but retarded

I never had an IQ test other than a shitty online one; I was in those "gifted" programs all throughout jr high and high school. I now go to community college and stay up this late when I have an exam in 8 hours, and a whole class before that. I have yet to study for that exam.

What is the purpose of these threads? I do not understand.

You guys post about your supposedly high IQs, then you talk about how much of a failure you are and how you sabotage yourself. It's as if you're saying "hey, I'm a loser, but it's fine because I have a high IQ!"

Wouldn't you expect an intelligent person to do something about his lack of accomplishment?

134 here. 28, I did shitty in school due to laziness and video games, though I did great with all my testing. Still a slacker, working a union job that pays well, but I work with a bunch of borderline tards. I tell everyone how to do their jobs, and they listen, despite sometimes having 25 years more experience than I do.

I'm great with mechanical/electrical things and understanding laws and social structure (criminal law degree).. but honestly I'm sort of shit with math and english. At least now I am.

IQ tests really only predict INABILITY, not ABILITY. The people on the low end of IQ are largely incapable. But the people on the high end of IQ aren't largely capable. High IQ is really better associated with borderline autism.

In the first one i get about 135 and in the latter i get lower than 100.
I always neglected math and languages.

Yes, most of the time and easily in everyway, unless it's in the knowledge format, I don't know everything.

I use my talent in a variety of ways from being a top 10 competitive player in a pvp game. Writing research papers all day, and really just enjoying life. When you're very smart you realize how truly incredible the experience of life is

I think IQ is a piss poor way of measuring intelligence, but I am more cut out to study social science (history, psychology, etc) than hard science. I'm studying physics either way because its my favorite, but I'm doing pretty crappy at the moment. oh well

I study in med school and place roughly in the top 1/3 in our exams. I believe I'm above average intelligence, over 100 iq. It's scary how smart some of my classmates are. Like if you talk to them, within a minute or so you realize that person is way beyond normal.

I hate IQ testing.
I once got a good job at a health insurence company. They tested their candidates with a assestment center, and test related to IQ tests.
I had the highest score of 80 candidates (!), but after some months of work everybody realized I failed in my job. I was way too slow and chaotic and couldn't talk with customers.
I needed years to realize that only industrial art, and building things makes me happy.
