Hey /sci/ i need help with a question. Can a 5 cm x 85 cm paperroll fit in a 35cm x 35cm x 68 box?

Help would be highly appriciated.

this sounds pretty legit I'd go with that

I don't know if the problem can be done in a simpler manner, but here's how I'd solve it in the general case:
- Take a diagonal of the box and a reference corner on it,
- Figure out which side of the box is closest to it when you're at a point X on that diagonal at distance x from the reference corner (this should be the same side on each half of the diagonal),
- Write the distance D between X and that side in terms of x,
- Solve D=(radius of the paper roll) and call x0 the solution,
- Check if (length of diagonal)-2*x0 > (height of the paper roll).

Boring shit.

Or you could do an experiment:

1. Take the paper roll in one hand
2. Take the box in the other.
3. Try to put the paper roll inside the box.
4. ?????
5. PROFIT

No, and excuse the shitty MS paint drawing.
