How many atoms thick is a piece of paper? I did the google and answers range anywhere from 10 to 1.5 million. This leads me to conclude physicists do a lot of talking out the ass. Does anyone here actually know?

According to Wikipedia, usual printing paper thicknes varies from 0.08mm to 0.15mm, which gives about 4-8 million atoms (estimating inter-atomic distance to be 2A).

atomic diamteter of hydrogen is about 0.1 nanometers

this means approximately 1 million hydrogen atoms lines end to end make the thickness of paper (if i can calculate correctly...)

this isnt exact, atomic radius (and therefore diameter) varies depending on the element, and paper thickness also varies, (as has already been stated)
