/sci/,

suppose we (as earth) dedicate a massive amount of time and resources to devise a way to destroy the sun (the nemesis of the earth)

what would be the quickest and most efficient way to this wizard, that stupid nuclear burning abomination in the sky that casts inexplicable amounts of electron-stripping radiation on our lands every day?

BLACK HOLE IT

this is actually your only option, nothing else in the universe is capable of multiplying destructive force except black holes (create it with finite energy, can destroy infinite mass)

that sounds like a really fancy way to say generate E fields of such large magnitude that when antiparticle/particle pairs are created they are led by field lines away from each other and do not annhilate.

which does NOTHING to kill a fucking star, again, only option is to create a black hole that falls into it

That just separates virtual particles from the vacuum, it would probably help the sun and give it more energy. If we dont destroy the sun in 100 years, the sun destroys US.

Why not destroy the Earth first, so we can do something useful with and make space colonies out of it.

>> No.4004834

We must do it with just the Earth's resources. I should solely be able to do it, too.

>> No.4004843

The sun is hydrogen combining at high temperatures and pressures. You'd want to snuff the sun. It would require a hell of a lot of energy to interrupt the reactoin You'd have to pull the Sun apart until none of the atomic masses are interacting, and of course, keep the entire thing from re-collapsing (which should reignite it).

not sure yet. fusion research pushes particles close enough to fuse, if we could push enough mass/energy into a small enough area, maybe we can get particles to gravitationally collapse

however it's probably 15 orders of magnitude more energy then we can utilize to produce fusion atm

as a side note : if we had the ability to produce black holes we can protect ourself from ANY asteroid strike.

if you collapse an incoming asteroid into a black hole it will be like a few nanometer wide. that will either evaporate prior to earth, or it would literally fly right through earth and leave a nanometer radius hole in the crust/core which would harm nothing.

so think about it - advanced civilizations probably gravitationally collapse incoming space rocks to sub nano sized black holes, meaning that way out there in space are TONS of micro micro black holes flying around produced to keep asteroids and other shit from wrecking aliens shit

Listen, Im not saying life without the sun with be easy. If anything its about time the Earth toughened up and learned to live on its own. But life around the sun has been hell. We are constantly in the palm of the suns hand, where at any moment he could crush us in his fist.

Patrick Henry said it best when he said to the Brittish "Give me liberty or give me death!"

In conclusion Brittain is kind of like the sun.

If you threw the Earth at the sun then the iron in the core would mess up fusion and make it die early. Relatively speaking. The OP is obviously looking for some sort of catastrophic explosion.

... which will be best achieved by finding a black hole and towing it to the sun, because apparently making black holes is impossible even if you turn the entire solar system into a particle accelerator.
