Cannot bring myself to study for this exam.

Soil mechanics - triaxial testing, shear strength, slope stability. Possibly the most boring and difficult shit I've ever done.

How does /sci/ force themselves to study stupid shit?

I think of my end-goal:
1) I am graduating at the end of this semester.
2) I am decently far along paths for two potential career tracks that I love, and they will make this worth it.
3) "Stupid shit" is temporary.
4) I would be more annoyed if I had to re-take a class where I had to do "stupid shit" than if I just did the "stupid shit" in the first place.

Why do you have to take soil mechanics, OP?

Civil engineering

Also, there's no chance I will fail this course. If I do minimal study I can expect a mark of about 75, but if I really wanted to I could get about 90.

This.

Everyone has one or two courses that are FML-boring. I hated my college state history class (because fucking why is it required?) but got through it and loved most of the courses I took.

Although, civil engineering is a lot of stuff like that, from what I've heard. Road grades always sounded boring to me.

Road design is actually a bit of fun, I just hate the theory behind soil, it's so... dry
