you fucking idiot, yes it would.

it would be highly inefficient with a leaf, though.

Yes, it would work it just wouldn't be that effective. It could be more effective if you kept cold water in the leaf. This would increase the condensation rate and decrease the thermal damage rate to your leaf.

Now, I don't know very much biology, but theoretically leafs should act as a semipermeable membrane. Now using CO2 from the fire and ammonia from decomposed urea, you might be able to make a simple forward osmosis water desalinator. Pic related.

Also, I am beginning to see why people hate EK.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_osmosis

It really depends on the leaf being a semi-permeable membrane, I am not sure that leaves are semipermeable.

>> No.3944009

This is a very crude evaporation still. Google it, there are simple ways to improve it.

>I am not sure that leaves are semipermeable.
they arn't!

water can exit via the underside of the leaf, but the entire leaf itself isnt semi permeable.

First time in this board, I'm going through all of them because I'm bored as shit. So the board is as retarded as the rest of 4chan and EK is a girl who trolls the ronery virgins? Cool

>> No.3944065

>>3944055
Yup.

>> No.3944083

A single leaf wouldn't collect very much water unless you built an elaborate canopy in a funnel shape to trap the steam, long enough so that most of the steam condenses and far enough from the heat of the fire.

Been to 10 threads already and they all seem like a more educated cross between /b/ and /soc/. Everybody sucking each other's dick and people arguing about everything. Also there's that "hurr my opinion > your opinion", but that's a trait from the entire site, not only you have it.

Still cool though, I may stick around

I think you could boil everything down to either of these.

No really, even more than /tv/ or /mu/. The first 2 threads I went into, were this one (and everybody sucking to EK) and another one where everybody is sucking Teacup off (>>3943573).
