As you may have already noticed, LFTR now has its own separate Wikipedia article. Feel free to add content or polish it, as well as check the Molten salt reactor article from which a lot of content has been moved there for more information that may better be moved into specific LFTR article.

Finally! People were always getting lost in the MSR article when thorium evangelists sent them for LFTR.

bump for thoriumfags to notice and nukegasm.

I'll apply for the articles to be merged

A theoretical question.

How much do you think an experimental thorium reactor would cost ?

I mean If it is within reason I am sure it can be even build with donations.

You think the only thing preventing people from building nuclear reactors in their garage is lack of funds?

well, that and the whole getting 'party-vanned' thing.
I must admit I prefer that term for the FBI.

The article is missing something important: it needs to include the political drama as well, for a holistic picture to be presented.

About ten-thousand dollars ($10,000).
Please note, that just for the parts, not for the labor.
Current reactors are really expensive because the contractors always hike up the price for the bid when they can, but since we have the full exposure online for the LFTR we can tell what the actual empirical cost of construction is, in terms of materiel.

Great.

There should be a LFTR scheme somewhere. And those powerplant cost comparisons. Of course Wikipedia requires sources and only public domain pictures, so that might be a problem. Anyone wanna draw the schematic yourself?

Thanks and a free internet to whoever split the article! The time is ripe, now that there are multiple groups and countries investigating the technology.
