It's probably a good idea financially, but I would feel uncomfortable with the idea that my high school performance would not matter in the university I end up in. Plus, most of the top tier universities don't accept transfer students or limit it greatly.

The math placement test was literally, like, arithmetic and prealgebra. Like, it was 15 questions, and the last 5 questions, the "hard" part, were ~SAT level math.

In 9th grade I had a class that took English placement. I, and most of the people who weren't utter morons, placed right into college level, I'm not sure if you're allowed to place higher. As for math I didn't have to take, but most people I see actually fail pretty hard at it because they haven't had a math class in years, if you know trig you can start off pretty high. I would recommend you do prepare yourself a bit for it.

the information is the same no matter what school you go to in comparable classes.
it's mostly a matter of how successfully it's communicated and technology.
As long as it's accredited and you have a decent teacher, it doesn't matter.
Unfortunately your degree may not be as valuable.

Interned at an IB during the financial crisis. I'm an international student that aced what is (supposedly) one of the hardest graduation exams.
I think at this point, everyone who transfers has something to show. Getting admitted depends on whether you can show that you can benefit from going there more than the other applicants.

I went to a community college. Took "Electrical Engineering Technology" was a 2 year accelerated program my after a 1.5 year co-op I landed a $137,071 year salary management job.

Everyone should go to a community college, even if it's just a semester. That does a number of things.

1) Overrides your highschool GPA altogether, so you can do shitty at highschool and focus on more important things than busy work.

2) Turns you into a transfer student, so you won't have to do any of that new student bullshit that others have to do (like living in dorms).

3) Allows you to bang out shitty core classes that no one cares about anyways without having to spend a lot of money.

At the end of the day, you not only save a lot of money, but you're more likely to get accepted into the Uni you want to since you're a transfer student.

I had the best math teacher I've ever had at that community college. The professors there actually want to teach, unlike the researchers at Unis.

hi OP, I went to community college. I'm likely one of the wealthiest lurkers on /sci/ with the exceptions of like moot and a couple anon quants that come and go.

big name cred helps in academics, but academics doesn't put much food in your belly or fly you to tahiti twice a year.

I dropped out at 7th grade and live off a trust fund.
I gave up school for non-fiction and self-study. Much more enjoyable.
