Hey/sci/ I know this might fall under /fit/ but I think it's more of a science question. So lets take an apple its got 60 calories. Now when you go to shit that apple out how much calories are in your shit? If its anything over zero then does that mean your body didn't consume the full 60 calories?

Dogs often eat their shit. They eat their shit when they use their sense of smell to determine that it has undigested nutrients left in it ( or UN-metabolized calories ). Depending on the condition of the person's intestinal tract, availability of certain Co-Enzymes ect... yes you can shit out unused energy.

Are you asking if human biology is 100% efficient at energy conversion from other organic molecules? The answer is no. It could be though. It just isn't naturally because evolution gave us different metabolic pathways to use in different situations.
