I wonder what science and math would look like if they didn't invent a shorter notation. Same with philosophy although with that it seems less of a requirement. I hate reading philosophical shorthand. When I read philosophy I want it to be set out in paragraphs with lucid explanations. If that can't be done, I just assume it's bullshit
