Divide it by 2. Then divide what is left by 2 if you can. If you can not, then divide it by 3 if you can, and if not, then 5 if you can.
Keep moving up the prime numbers dividing what is left by the lowest one you can each time.
When you are left with a prime number as the remainder, you have reached the end.
