Theory:Development of a paragon in the current state of knowing.
:Experiment: I present evidence of a video displaying 5 individuals sitting in a room doing nothing.
I state that 1 or more of these individuals are speaking to each other through telepathy.
I ask that you prove me wrong that this is not happening now through any means.
You can't.

In order to continue the discussion, one must assume that the concept of telepathy is real known and active.

If the concept of telepathy is "real known and active", then tell me about it. Tell me what about it is real and known. I can't answer your question without knowing the characteristics of the supposed telepathy that is framed in the question.

Speaking through thought..basically like having a genekic phone in your head, like surface thoughts only are being exchanged. Two people staring at each other. xD

what the fuck does that even mean? i hear atheists using that phrase all the time. it's trite.

but let's suppose i said:

>there is no coffee in my mug that i am holding in my hand (a negative assertion)
>i present the contents of the mug and indeed there is no coffee in my cup

i just proved a negative assertion. is that too superficial of an argument? what am i missing?

In logic, it is impossible to prove a negative. Only affirmative proof is possible which only works when you can point to something and say "see, here it is".

When it comes to attempting to prove a negative all you can do is fail to disprove it, which is not at all the same thing.

Im saying that i have proof that one of these people in the video is a known telepath...if i brought X person and sat you down in a room with him..he would profess Xavier on your ass.
But before showing you that it may actually exist..i need you to believe in it fully without proof.
Kinda like trying to say that something is going on that you can detect in no possible if i told you it was going on.

There is no reason to make any assumptions whatsoever until more information is given. If you knew that 1/1000 people were telepaths and the subjects were chosen at random you could calculate the chances but otherwise there just isn't any information other than "telepaths exist".

I suppose you could work with what you're given, there must be at least 1 telepath and there are at least 7 billion people in the world so you know the lower limit, alternatively everyone but 2 people in the world could be telepaths or something. But who cares at this point.

The only logical way is to assume because in order to prove what is given is there. The formula of faith.

OK now lets say we move to a different room.
Now its just you and me in a cealed off room completely from the rest of the world.
I now proclaim that i am the telepath BUT im not going to be reading your thought because i can turn it off and on. Just to make it interesting.
Now what?

behold the power of logic
unfalsifiable claims are what is trite

precisely...In order to prove this equazion..you must have faith.
Can proving this person wrong in front saying he has telepathy possible?
Basically the only choices are:
A:Give up and walk away
or
B:Stay and keep asking questions til you dont need faith...and you just know.
Kinda like saying i can turn invisible but im not going to show you. And the only i will show you is when i know you believe me.
You may ask why he is making this way? Because say i was a telepath. I wouldnt go around telling everyone what i can do. Its like annoucing i could or could not have a gun on me. Its a question with a choice in answer.

Next phase.

Now i proclaim new evidence. Its better for the world if the world play with me. This Problem story could change your view of everything...i promise.

X person of age greater than 18 is left alone over a weekend while zed family is on vacation.
While X is at the house by X's lonesome. HE is visited in the night by a fully cloaked human looking figure with,
only the chin showing, and the symbol of an eye in the middle of zed cloaks hoody.
You find yourself awake with this person sitting at the foot of your bed with a book at the foot of your bed.
You feel you were awoken by faint voices and awake in alarm.
As you stare gaze and ponder why a fully cloaked person is at the foot of your, you start hearing vivid formation
of words graze accross your mind. They are clear and perfectly understandable.

You hear that this person wants you link this book of vast confused knowledge with the known knowledge of the world.
Now at this point you are excepting: a stranger broke into my house and pulled a chair up to your bed and woke you
by projecting thoughts into your head.
The book is unmarked with a ribben and sicky note with a heart on it. The voice now says dont worry about the book til i
leave. We have much to talk about. Now what?

Will try to keep thread alive by throwing new stuff out til im proven wrong or til i prove to all of /sci/ that telepathy is real.
May also have pics of the content in the book the hooded eye figure may or may not have delivered. But will only provide if im provided with equally intellectuals that want to play with me.
