Its actually in technology consulting, yep, quite relevant to my degree, lol. But it will pay quite well after just a few years. I assume it will be long hours of varied work, (documentation, client relations, SAP, etc), getting heaps of contacts in various industries.

I did do one year of postgrad on a thesis, getting first class for it. In the behavioural interview, the guy basically said the reason I was in front of him was because I did the extra honours year.

Scientists are the new (medieval) priesthood. We interpret important things (reality for us, scripture for priests) for the illiterate masses. We are powerful and essential to everyone's way of life, but we are NOT trusted. Fear is easily spread.

He came to me and asked if I could make him steroids or HGH. After laughing for a bit, I told him I could, but it'd require thousands worth of equipment and even more to make it anything approaching safe.

I'm a little perplexed as to why people think we're alchemists or wizards or something.

Seriously, my law classmates (one specifically with two engineers, myself, and a boatload of liberal arts majors) ask me the most retarded questions about pharmaceutical and biotech cases.

The fact that so many simply don't understand the most basic principles of the processes that make modern life possible, disappoints me. Can't say I'm shocked though.
