Hey, TI-89 owners; how does it feel being inferior in every way to god-level HP50g users?

Algebraic notation is for little babies. Deal with it.

you may as well brag about the finish on your desk. Some like glossy, some like matte, but at the end of the day do what you like and if you are proud about such a trivial, subjective decision, you should try to get a more exciting life.

anyway pray tell OP why is the HP50g so superior?
I'm perfectly fine with my TI89.

>> No.3769054

not OP but a nice thing about HP calculators is they use RPN, which can make some calculations easier to type, like when you're using lisp

Of course, it's now the year 1999 and we have a language called PYTHON which we can use to solve such problems easier.

well... where is it? you're in ochem lab, so as an analogy you should get, it would be quite akin to ridiculing someone for getting the name of a chemical wrong when they haven't learned nomenclature yet.

Don't care. My TI-89 works, I got it as a gift, I've never thrown anything at it that it couldn't handle. Next question?

Is it gay to have a little faith in your fellow man? Does it mean that OP likes guys just because he thinks that one or two people on this board want to have a reasonable discussion, instead of flinging insults at one another? Is this, is *this* what /sci/ has become??

>> No.3769144

As far as RPN goes there are a few interfaces you can download to a TI calc, but they seem to run slowly.

While I'm not really a calculator elitist, I'd say most TI users (who actually use their calculators daily) would run out and buy an HP50G after using RPN for a week or two. Speed of input and less susceptibility to syntax errors wins most people over.

-The equation writer
-RPN
-SD card expansion
-9000 built-in functions and macros/programs
-The tactile buttons
-logical CAS system

I was about to buy one of these things in addition to my useful but cheap scientific calculator, but then it occurred to me:
