What does /sci/ think about Michio Kaku?

Here we go again.

A physicists who thinks he knows everything about all fields of science yet he claims humans don't evolve anymore

Great speaker, out there in eccentricsville with his theories but then again, if you confined yourself to conventionalism, you would never be able to advance and grow as a person or as a species.

At the very least, he doesn't jump all over the latest quack fad (like no nuclear power or asahi chico or whatever the hell it is or even wheatgrass juice)

>> No.3726847

he likes to sell science fiction as science to the illiterate public

probably makes lots of money out of that

>> No.3726853

He is a racist saying that America would suck without foreigners coming to universities.
He needs to put his money where his mouth is and go back to China.

Even if the change in the biological characteristics of our species over time due to mutation and selection was greater than it was before, the few thousand years of recorded history we have is far too short for a huge shift to occur. That kind of rapid change, I believe, only occurs in a more localized manner, and in fact there are examples of humans who have adapted to their local environment. I don't see any reason to believe the rate has actually slowed down.

We're not Malawi Cichlids that can evolve very fast...
We also reproduce pretty slow.

America doesn't have enough people qualified to fill all the highly educated job openings the US has. You need 5 doctors but the US can only fill in 2. Accept it, the US is dumb.

I mainly know of this man from his Sci-Fi comic book/superhero show, but that kind of dumbs down the topics and we don't get to see what he really knows.

Time is a perception of relative movement, not a transverse-able continuum.

As far as the universe is concerned, there is no time, just objects moving relative to each other.
