Is Star Trek a real science?

>> No.3723236

well, it certainly is a harder science than biology, right?

Ugh. Stop forcing that retarded meme. It was not, and still isn't funny. Just give it up already.

if anything ever goes wrong just reverse the quantum polarity, and dont forget to hack into the alien's computer in < 10 seconds.

>> No.3724291

>>3724280
I like how reversing the polarity always turns something into what they need.

Reverse the polarity of the deflector dish? It's now a giant ray gun. However, if they wanted it to be a toaster oven, reversing the polarity would have done that instead.

I reversed the polarity on my toaster once. It worked!

no, wait.. that was my Telecaster.
But the principle is the same!

Star Trek: TOS, DS9 and TNG. Later shit is shit.

Actually, tbh, I haven't watched a sci-fi in years and the only one's I can think of are the typical choices everyone knows like Firefly and Stargate, so I'm interested too - what's new and good?

>> No.3725718

well Dr. Who is classic, i highly recommend a few anime that are so overlooked by people who fail to find their value as the scifi gold they are.
spirited away
castle in the sky
mind game
perfect blue
akira
end of evangelion
full metal alchemist
DEATH note, to name a few of the best out there. (they really are, trust me, i have looked you would love them) and watch in that order if you are new to anime, they will ease you into the more intense stuff.

What's new and what's good.

Eureka is more nerdly than anything, and sometimes they (the producers) don't do their homework.

Warehouse 13 is okay.

Fringe is hideous. Despite what people think, no it hasn't gotten better by going even more fucked up than before.

Game of Thrones if you prefer the more medieval type setting.

Terra Nova and Falling Skies I haven't seen yet.

Walking Dead first season was good.

Alphas is okay.

There's more that I'm missing I'm sure.

True, and oh-so-sad.

B5's writing was simply superb. It was hampered by sets, costumes, makeup, special effects, etc.

The acting was sometimes forced, but when it was good... it was truly spectacular.

I'm not advocating a remake or anything, but B5 done with today's technology and a larger budget would likely be considered one of the best shows on TV.

Or 80s camp.
Or 70s camp.
Or 60s camp.

Everything is becoming progressively more grimdark and serialised with the exception of sitcoms, but those are generally shithouse. Imo, Babylon 5 and Deep Space Nine hit the perfect mesh or serious and fun. However, these days it's harder to come by.

Pic unrelated.
