On the 11th of September, 1944, the RAF air bombed the German city of Darmstadt leading to an estimated 11,500 deaths. A year earlier, in 1943, the nazi’s started liquidation of ghettos in Russia. But everyone is going to talk about the 2001 attacks anyway because of islamophobia.

Also because in happened only a decade ago in a socially prominent country, not fifty years ago in an event that is no longer relevant.

Jesus.

And yet our retarded, jingoistic, hateful, propaganda-driven Islamophobia steals the limelight...

Fun fact, 38 years ago today the CIA aided and encouraged a military coup in Chile. The coup eventually installed general Augusto Pinochet, who went on to kill about 3,200 people and torture countless others during his regime.

Why did we want the original democratically elected president of Chile gone? Because he was going to nationalize a bunch of industries.

Islam is currently the greatest threat that organized religion poses to the secular world. All religions, Christianity included are the enemies of science, but Islam is the only one that advocates violence against nonbelievers to such an extent. Anyone who doesn't understand this has been blinded by "multiculturalism" teaching us that we need to tolerate the stone age beliefs of ignorant desert nomads and place them on equal footing with the greatest source of knowledge and technology that modern society has to offer.

>> No.3721287

While it's perfectly legitimate to have concerns about any ideology (religious or not), 99% of islamophobes are just racists trying to dress up their racism as high-minded ideals.

E.g. some of the loudest critics of Islam's treatment of women (and gays) could do with taking the splinter from their own eye first (I'm looking at you, southern baptists).

>> No.3721291

>>3721286
Except southern baptists aren't the most vocal critics of Islam's treatment of women and they certainly don't condemn Islam's treatment of homosexuals. The actual critics of the Islamic sexism and misogyny are liberals, particularly in Europe

I think it is funny how none of this extreme/fundamental shit is even in the Koran. Not an expert here, but apparently the meaning of the Koran can be interpreted rather "freely".

That being said, Christianity has had its fair share of violence in the past. At the moment there just isn't a counterweight to Islam.

Multicultural society fails because not all cultures are evaluated equally. The "invading" culture is treated in higher regard. Don't like a minaret next to your door? Well then you must be racist/xenophobic. Are you a woman that likes to wear shorts in summer? Well, better not do this in an Islam rich neighborhood. It will be considered offensive. Etc. Clearly one culture of the multicultural society is more dominant.

Exactly. All this bullshit that people attribute to Islam is a modern political development; the religion is not any inherently worse than any other, and up until the last century was a fuckload better than most.

I honestly hate that definition of "phobia," even more aggravating that it's the official definition accepted by the likes of even the DSM, because not all phobias are irrational or peculiar. If you want truly irrational fear, try paranoia.

I never understood why as a liberal atheist I should have positive feelings towards multiculturalism and islam. Muslims as a whole are extremely religious, mysoginistic, anti-human rights, homophobic as fuck and want to force their religious BS on everyone. Shouldnt we be at the forefront of opposition against there bigots?

It shows. You don't have to dig too hard.

Sura 4:89
They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah . But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.

The Qu'ran makes clear that the penalty for converting from Islam to another religion is death and all 5 schools of Islamic jurisprudence agree on this point.

At least you didn't say "rational" or "sane". It's not possible to believe that the omnipotent creator of the universe decided to speak to humanity last through a remote desert pedophile scam artist and still be considered rational or sane.

Which does nothing to prove that whatever is written in the Koran is factual in nature. As a result, these people are still believing FANTASY and that is dangerous enough in itself when you realize that these people also base policy decisions on a work of FICTION.

I believe gods words are within the koran. the begiinning chapters (most of the book) are of a deep, "20/20 foresight" I know exactly waht im going to say, and make it very clear through its convolution. Its like a maze that has different doors and passage ways that at first seem like distractions. but these passage blocks and "longways" are actually the proper way throught the maze! If I spoke arabic I would be doubly a believer but in english it all makes sense. Only something that doesn't give a shit about anything but doing good would pass the book down. It has no intent. It has no meanness. every time it says to strike unbelievers. it means only if truly fairly should u do so. not just go around looking for unbelievers to kill. for they deserve their time on earth to believe. when they die is when they will be chastised for their wrong doings.

2:191 "Kill [the unbelievers] wherever you encounter them."

As unambiguous as this may sound, it is usually only understood by scholars to mean that Muslims may fight back against enemies even if they are in Mecca - before this Sura was ah... produced, Muslims were convinced that it was a sin to fight (even in self-defence) in Mecca.

As with others, the religious texts are easy enough to manipulate to support whatever worldview one wishes them to support.
