Although the axes are not labeled, I suspect them to be doses in grams when psychoactive effect is acquired...

The fact that LSD is in the 0.001 range on the X axis reflects the fact that it is active when mere micrograms are ingested...

obviously you get higher from a hit of LSD than you get from a hit of noticeable alcohol consumption (1 glass)

no, I think I get it now. it's a ratio, it's how close the dose has to be to a potentially lethal amount to be active.
I thought it somehow compared each drug's ratio between themselves, but I guess not.
