I think that has more to do with aspirations than just intelligence. I don't do this but getting money from the government and then doing whatever the fuck you want sounds pretty good as long as you are smart enough to ration out the welfare money.

Let's start by clearly defining 'arrogant'.

Dictionary.com defines it thusly as "Having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities".

I mostly agree, while adding the most relevant way of saying that would be "Revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own ability". I would say that my actions, statements, nor being, conform to this, and I will explain as so: I have tested for my intelligence quotient many times and all of the data supports the fact that I am a genius. By definition this means I am more intelligent than 98% of the population. For whatever reason, without fail, this immediately irritates nearly every single person. My intelligence is most likely due to genetic factors and how I was raised during the formative years of early childhood. None of that was really in my control, and the thing is people don't get mad at intelligent people in general they just get mad when one says they are more intelligent. I don't get that, by that vain you should get mad at people who say they are taller. Tall people had an equal amount of choice in the matter as I did for my intelligence.

If you're still antagonizing me then your likely argument is "Ok, but you don't have to bring it up during an argument/conversation." Sounds good I suppose... Except the fact that it's not. If a tall person were trying to gain a spot on a basketball team would that person not bring up the obvious advantage of his/her height? This person has a certain genetic factor that lent an advantage in a certain situation, and I am merely doing the same. So in some sort of conclusion let me just plainly state I have not revealed an exaggerated sense of my ability, but simply revealed my ability and thus should not be considered arrogant. If this is not enough for you I'm sincerely sorry. The only thing left I can say is most of the time with an ability comes certain disability. Tall people may often be inconvenienced by the by products designed for the more average sized populace. They might be uncomfortable in many of the average sized cars or beds. While I'm not going to specify exact problems as to avoid extremely controversial topics, I'm just going to mention that society is designed for people with average intelligence, and while you may be aware of the problems of people with extremely low IQs you are likely oblivious to those people with high IQs have to face.

because when you are ahead of the pack, you don't bother yourself with opinions of sheeps. assuming smart is measured by success in this case like it should be. successful people aren't successful because they listen to other people. it's because they don't. some of these people are stupid and fail, which is the majority. and some of them succeed.

Luddites often use the word arrogant to simply describe people that know and understand more about nature and the world than they do. Instead of reserving the term for those who leverage their knowledge and abilities to look down on others, they dispense the term cheaply to describe anyone whose academic achievements make them feel inferior, even if the person in question is respectful and humble, thus exposing their own insecurities.

The same sort of people often use the word "attack" to describe arguments from people that disagree with them, especially those who propose comprehensive and rigorous rebuttals that fly in the face of their own world view, taking them out of their comfort bubble.

These are the lazy masses whose comfortable bubbles are more important to them than honest, integrity and speaking the truth even when it makes you uncomfortable. They are the enemies of reason.
