How much debt we have isn't as important as our ability to pay it off, and the US is still capable of taking on more dept while remaining solvent.

And so what if one of three credit rating agencies bumped down the governments rating by a single notch? "We cannot afford four more years of this rudderless leadership." Perry

"We made progress in moving from the back of the pack into a competitive position for the caucuses, but we have a lot more work to do." Pawlenty

What does this even mean? It's just empty words void of any meaning. They aren't proposing anything and they are not saying anything with any intrinsic value.

Also, why are republicans even concerned with social issues right now? That is the least of our worries with the economy the way it is. We should not be concerned with abortion or gay marriage unless it posses any economic problem what so ever.

A lawyers job isn't to write laws. It's not even to interpret laws. It's to make arguments based on currently existing laws and how a judge has interpreted them.

You might actually get some world peace going if Bachman gets elected.

See, even with all the weapons, USA isn't very scary.

But if Bachman becomes the next figurehead, you could just drop fliers with her face on them into hostile countries, with the local-language text
"Behave or she will eat your babies, rape the men and kill the women."

Because that face just simply shrieks that she probably does just that for breakfast.

I mean seriously, what's with the US female presidential advocates?

Do you just take the genetic material from fifty of the most evil people in history, mix it up, cull the boys and leave the girls into a cave system to feed off each other until the strongest one emerges, totally batshit insane and eyes dilated from here to Jupiter to see in the darkness?

Not really. First of all economics is in at least a little way a science. Accounting is just the practice and procedure of keeping track of money.

How is it...

That people even try to blame the economic crisis on Obama...

When he inherited it from G.W. Bush???

Do they just pretend that 8 years, 2 wars, the housing collapse, and bailout of the auto-indutries never happened?

I think they do. Republicans also blame him for the economy not improving even they're the ones that tried to limit any stimulus as much as they could.

Yeah, Ill try. Its a bit difficult drawing the boundaries between all these business majors.

Its very much a practical major though. If I were to describe it I would say its about achieving optimality among people. In that if you have people, with different preferences and you have finite resources, how do you make the most of the circumstance. So as a science its very much about studying human behavior, and by extension studying markets in which people exchange. On the practical side its about making businesses more efficient at what they do.

There is no particular occupation economists occupy, although you can become a professional economist at various financial institutions. But everything about business rests on a foundation of economics. In the government its important for policy makers to understand economics, so economists often have opportunities in government.

>>3563121

Well he did approve various bail outs and stimuli. Which was a lot of money.
