Inevitable Extinction Level event on planet earth, means there is 1 answer which you can reject and accept the alternative.

The most useful thing any human being can do with his/her time is anything that can help lead to the development of technology that will allow us to colonize our solar system and eventually the galaxy, if you take issue with leaving earth for some reason or long term survival, then the answer is there is no best way to spend your time, the question is irrelevant and a God tier science genius has no more value that the worst of humanity.

Put it this way, if you were on an island that you knew for a fact was going to be underwater in the 500 ft underwater in a week, what would be the most useful expenditure of your time. Its the same thing here, just a longer view and enough people that we feel its ok to shirk to responsibility

Take care of your body, eat well and exercise. Create something (whether it's a homemade radio, a painting or a song).

Contrary to what many on here will tell you, you can make useful contributions to the human race. A lot of art and clever devices can be created by people with average or even sub-average intellect when they devote time and interest.

At the very least, if you will not contribute (most of us do not out of laziness or poor understanding), at least do not be one of those people who actually causes some form of digression.

As an averagefag, I accumulate knowledge and try to make it more accessible to non-specialists (myself included).
(e.g. sharing my own projects, talking about/researching possible projects (often already done, so I learn more anyway), interactive visualizations, etc..)

IMO, knowledge will save us, but not if it stays in books or isolated brains. (And once we're saved, I can finally fap in peace.)
